Wildlife Stewards is an organization started by two passionate teenagers who are dedicated to conserving wildlife in their natural habitats and educating the world about the importance of preserving the health of our planet. From wildlife monitoring and habitat restoration to education programs around climate change, we strive to create lasting solutions for wildlife conservation and environmental issues. We believe that together, we can create a world where ecosystems are restored, wildlife thrives and humanity lives in harmony with nature.
We aim to start a youth movement of environmental awareness through research, education, advocacy and hands-on conservation efforts. Our mission is to collaborate with local communities, scientists and conservationists around the world to protect endangered species. We also want to educate youth on habitat restoration, sustainable development and the effects of climate change, and spearhead local initiatives to take small but meaningful action to protect our incredible planet.
Our founders have worked independently and collaboratively on various initiatives in their local communities. Atiksh has worked closely with the Central Park Zoo on education initiatives, the Mianus River Gorge on habitat research, and the Alley Pond environmental center on sustainable policies and preserving ecosystems. Atiksh has also conducted detailed research on log islands in Randall’s Island. Suvid has volunteered with Millburn Climate Action group on community awareness and advocacy since 2019 on topics such as single use plastic, microplastics, native plants, green energy and food waste. Suvid has worked with Columbia University Program of Eco-Ambassadors on initiatives and community science projects focused on microplastics and food waste.
We have also started multiple initiatives in our local communities on conservation and environmental awareness.
