Suvid was invited as Millburn Education Foundation STEAMFest Environmental Challenge winner to speak on the youth panel at the summit. The youth discussed various climate change and sustainability issues and solutions.

Suvid participated in a town candidate debate between the local youth and Republicans and Democrats in Millburn in Oct 2023. They discussed policies on environmental topics such as waste management, native plant pollinators, and natural disaster resilience. Suvid designed an app for tackling household food waste called Mindful Bites that won the third prize in Congresswoman Sherril’s district in the Congressional App Challenge 2023.
Suvid and fellow Millburn for Climate Action Volunteers met with local rotary members and discussed the importance of ecological and sustainability issues.
It was great to meet various youth eco-enthusiasts and also interact with experts and government officials from various countries, while learning so much new information about the climate on a larger scale.
As part of New Jersey and New York Sea Grant collaborative efforts, Suvid conducted research at Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory under Dr. Joaquim Goes. The research demonstrated high levels of microplastics in the waste waters from household laundry usage and shrimps used for food consumption.
